Me and my bf go here quite a bit i always get my favorite frisco melt meal. And he gets something off the 4.99 menu and we always have had great fast service. The people working are always pleasant and very knowledgeable about there food. And the shakes are also very good. So i 100% recommend this place if your looking for a great meal.

Restaurant Review I can find the shake, but where's the steak! The whole concept of premium steak in my burger was novel back 5 years ago before premium angus burgers started to hit the menu at McD. I use to crave coming to steak and shake to eat there steak burgers and always would leave wondering why my experience is so so. Most likely because the steak burgers themselves are very thin minced up patties of unrecognizable beef with a super lightweight burger bun. The pictures sell you on the most wonderful burger but really the burger itself is worse than McD. I would always get the burger dinner combo which is not on the menu and comes with 2 sides. I ended up getting onion rings which were over fried that the rings themselves look dark brown and shoe string fries that tasted off. Maybe it is something with the oil. Now there is ONE positive and that would be the wonderful milk shakes at steak n shake. I can't say I have ever had a bad milk shake here. The double chocolate fudge was perfect with rich chocolate milk shake and fudge throughout. I should just come here for the milk shakes! Pro- best milk shakes in the world! friendly service Con- terrible burgers, sides..... Hidden deal- Check out your weekly newspaper ads for coupon to save on combo meals and the dinner combo w/ milk shake which is not on the menu. Just order with the server and indicate you have the coupon for that meal

Burgers and shakes have always been good for fast food place, service is quick, good side options except the fries are not very good, -1 star for sucky fries.

Soooo good, even considering the usual stomach issues that typically occur after consuming a meal here. But Peter B. is right, this Steak n Shake (as most) does seem to attract a really odd collection of patrons. High school kids, hometown people back for the holidays (AKA me), and random old people that probably go there every day for the early bird. My absolute favorite is the Frisco Melt. I can't even begin to really describe it properly - I drool just thinking about it. Steakburger with "Thousand Island dressing" (it doesn't really taste like Thousand Island - it's BETTER), and a big layer of melted cheese. It's an orgasm between two slices of bread. I also like their shoestring fries, and of course, the requisite shake (made with real milk and ice cream). I've never had a problem with service here. The servers do look like they're annoyed when there's a particularly large group of people, but I'm sure I would be annoyed too. After your meal, don't sit around waiting for your server to take your money - you pay for your check up at the counter. Num num, definitely an old standby when I go back home!

Went here late night in March. March 26th to be exact. The server walked us to a table and tried to seat us at a table that had 3 dirty plates and 3 empty used cups. Obviously the server was not going to sit us there so she sat us at another table. We ordered our drinks and our food at the same time. As time passed, 5 mins or so I finished my drink and waited for another refill. That took about another 10 mins. Steak n Shake had maybe 4 other tables at this time (remember I said I was late, around 2am) and my guest an I noticed there was 11 dirty tables! 11! ELEVEN DIRTY TABLES! I was disgusted and grew super impatient of waiting for our food (about 30-35 mins after our order was took). I walked up to the front desk and asked what is taking sooooo long. A woman who was not doing much work nor working hard threw her hands in the air and shouted "The drive thru, the drive thru!" She was very rude and unprofessional! My guest and I didnt see a line of cars in the drive thru. We seen 2 the whole visit! Before our food came out and to our table wr said we are leaving and we stood up to walk out. We then were yelled at and were told we had to pay for everything we ordered! I got pissed because all we got were 2 drinks and I cup of chilli, never got our main meal! I said we will pay for what we recieved and what we ate. "Nope, you have to pay for everything and we are calling the police, said the rude manager. My guest ended up paying for everything as I waited out side foe the police who were supposedly called to arrive. As I waited I watched as a crew of people, who were not present when we were ready to dine, SCRAMBLE to clean the tables. I waited and waited but no police showed up. I will Never, Ever go to this place ever again! The staff was unprofessional and hiding and lazy. One man I seen working, he was on the grill. I praised him as we walked out. If possible I would have rated this Steak n Shake a -3 stars

I haven't been to Steak 'N Shake in about a year, but I was here recently and had a good experience. I ordered one of the specialty burgers -- the Guacamole Steak Burger. I can't say enough about this burger... it was DELICIOUS. All the included condiments were SPOT ON. There was a little bit of lingering spiciness in each bite. Not sure if this was from the pepper jack cheese or the guac (maybe both?), but it was just the right level of spice to push what would probably be a standard burger up a notch. The red onion was the clincher for me. I love onions, and had they used white onions instead of red, it would have ruined the burger. I noticed on the menu that they are also featuring a guacamole hot dog. I'll have to try this next time. Without a doubt, I would go back again for another guacamole steak burger. YUM!

Standard chain hamburger place. This location tends to be very crowded. Food is decently priced. EDIT (9/4/2007): I have dropped my rating from 3 stars down to the minimum 1 star. This is due to a recent bad dining experience on 9/3/2007 which included the following sucky things: * Served an iced tea with crap floating in it because the ice tea maker wasn't cleaned for over 24 hours. Although, I suspect my waitress spat in it as well as other food items which were served at my table. * My party was served cold soup and half of the cups were less than half full. * Our waitress only stopped at our table 2 times during the meal: to take our order and to deliver our food and check. * Overcharged for meals, staff had attitude of "So what... Up yours" when asked to make corrections. * Tables and seating dirty and sticky since staff wasn't properly cleaning up after people left. * No receipt issued upon payment. The list above has been reported to SNS corporate offices, and a conversation is pending with the district manager. I do not plan on returning to this location. EDIT (10/1/2007): The district manager has not gotten back to me yet, even though I have given second notice to corporate. EDIT (12/3/2007): The district manager finally contacted me during the week of 10/8 and apologized for the incident. The district manager had the third shift of this location purchase and send me a $25 gift card as well as apologize in writing for the incident. Due to honesty as well as the apology of the district manager, I have restored my original 3 star rating.

This is my first review on yelp. This was also my first time at Steak N Shake. Something about the burgers is very Mcdonalds-like, it just melts in your mouth. The burgers look bigger on the menu pictures.

What's not to love? Prices are great. Hours are awesome. They have the best shake combinations. Service is okay for what you pay. There is always a parking space. Great for a date, Father's Day, Easter. I mean this place is a no brainier and there is always something for all ... Even the picky eater. Please try the Nutella shake.

The best one I have been to by far. We were seated quickly and the food was better than at all the other locations we tried. They even wrapped my burger in lettuce for me. The only downfall was we were never asked or given drink refills til we were ready to check out.

This is a great, family friendly resteraunt! Friendly environment, cheap and good food, and amazingly friendly servers. Ive never had a mis-order and the shakes are spectacular! Overall, a great place to eat dinner.... Definitely worth the time! Oreo Cookies and Cream is my favorite shake, and the chicken tenders are stellar. The burgers have a unique grilling style, making them wonderful and original! Stop on by!

Not great. ..but passable fare. It's what one would expect if they paid 4.99 for a meal. The burgers are cooked within an inch of their life and the shakes are hit and miss. ..I'd go for a less frilly one, like chocolate or vanilla. ..the others that I've tried can frustrate you trying to pull content from your straw due to the lack of mixing and sizable chunks as a result there of. The fries are worth mentioning. Pretty good. Service inside, again. ..hit and miss.. Better food than McDonald's.

You go for the shakes and the cheap (greasy) food. You don't go for the service, ambiance, cleanliness, nor quiet time. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for a dark chocolate fudge shake, but I don't like sitting on chairs that remind me of airport bathrooms while being served by a bratty 15 year old.

Ate there with my wife leaving St Alexis hospital and experienced the worst hamburger I have ever had in my life! Left a puke after-taste in my mouth for hours. Was absolutely horrible. McDonald's (which I never touch) would be 5 stars in comparison to this cap burger! Never again!!!

I came here on a Friday evening just to pick up some milkshakes...and apparently it is the to-go place for high school kids... Drinks/Food: Strawberry milkshake (~$3-4) - very VERY VERY sweet, kinda like blended ice cream so that you don't need to chew your ice cream.. instead.. you can slurp it.. :) **it's been awhile since i've eaten here.. the food is just a-ok, but cheap... Milkshakes in general are all really really sweet.. so don't come here unless you have a sweet tooth! (I think they have discounted milkshake prices starting at 2AM or something...if you would rather be drinking a milkshake then sleeping.. or you can drink your milkshake while you sleep (for those always hungry ppl) Costs: Classic milkshakes are cheaper than the special milkshakes (ex: s'more milkshake or something)..ranges from $4+ for a decent portion..more than enough sugar/calories than you may need in one day...and the food food costs are reasonable... Atmosphere: you will see HS kids.. and some families...

Friendly service. Opened 24 hours. Love the milkshakes, they have a little more variety than other outlets of franchise I have been. But really cool. If you like spicy stuff then - Spicy Chicken sandwich and Jalapeno Crunch Chicken Sandwich is a must try.

Can't beat the breakfast. Quick and inexpensive. But we were lectured for 5 minutes when we arrived at 11:02 THAT BREAKFAST WAS over at 11.and all the breakfast foods were thrown away. When we turned arround to leave this Latina changed her mind and said they would make some more just for us. We are talking sausage and eggs here! Muchas gracias! We were soooo lucky! Don't try to have breakfast after 11:00 of you'll get a South of the Border verbal whuppin!
